Aka Carl began his musical journey when he got his first set of decks in 2002, at first playing various styles of dance music (trance, techno, hard house) until his attention was focused on various styles of Techno Music.

When AKA Carl reached this point he wanted to develop his skills in music production and the music industry. He attended a CPD in the music industry at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) in 2005; this then allowed him to further study for a degree in Sound Engineering and Design at Manchester’s School of Sound and Recording (SSR). Whist studying AKA Carl worked in the Technics DJ Academy and worked on successfully establishing his Techno label SUB CULT as well as fine-tuning his own style of mixing and producing.

Now Aka Carl, is since been an established household-brand in the techno scene. Besides his work as a producer, his highly acclaimed label Sub Cult also has caught the eyes and ears of the very artists that influenced him at the beginning of his career. Techno giants like Ben Sims, Jeff Mills, Paul Mac, Vestax, Dave the Drummer, Preach, A. Paul, Pedro Delgardo and lots more have supported him, his label and/or shared the stage with him. He consistently released quality music, plays uplifting and powerful sets and leads SUB CULT with a clear vision.

The label currently boasts an impressive list of releases both in vinyl and digital format by many respected artists and it is hard to find a techno-set that does not include a SUB CULT production. Check Out His Tracks & Podcasts

Le Son Du Placard started producing electronic music since he was a teenager back in the 90s with anything he could find. He continued practicing its passion by playing keyboards in several bands. In 2003 he went back to playing solo with hardware electronic machines : sequencers, synth and samplers. His music was hard and rough at that time and all was about freedom and curiosity in his mind. Little by little driven by the need of a neat and accurate sound he went to software. In the mean time tempo has a bit slowen down to softly go to what he likes the most today : techno music.

Inspired by gloomy landscapes and poisoned reality was born Le Son Du Placard. A heady techno with mental loop overs solid drum and crazy FX. Atmospheres are a central aspect of his music they are the soundscape around which are evolving the different elements bringing some animal life in this strange exoplanet’s wold.

First released on the label Scander ran by Cosmic Boys (Scander/M-nus) in 2014, he quickly got a lot of production for the labels Kaleydo Beats, Yousel records, Redmoon Rec. , Audio Monster, Electrovino, FETT rec., TrueLife rec. and a lot more.

When two unique relentless molecules collide in pounding, gritty & tough conditions surrounded with subsonic frequencies, a special kind of Solid State compound forms, which is a very rare occurrence in the underground environment, only detectable by refined auditoral sensors. This compound, forged with the rhythmic acceleration of techno particles over the Atlantic, brings about the dichotomy of two physical states, first being in the form UK engineer Aka Carl and his renowned audio collider Sub Cult records, while the other hails down from Texas notoriously hardened, subzero laboratories Capital Techno with elements that shatter the membranes and bend the matter into almost fluid wave of resonance. Clashing directly above the ocean, these two forces of nature create a Solid State, that has already made its impact on the electronic periodic table.

However, these two are a force to be reckoned with in their own right. The Sub Cult label boss Aka Carl has been around the techno block for decades and his imprint was an essential vinyl and digital selection in record boxes from the likes of Dave Clarke, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Wehbba, Cristian Varela, Eddie Halliwell, Luigi Madonna to name but a few. His consistent quality and distinguished output, whether playing, producing or releasing, set him frequently touring abroad EU and other continents. Fast forward to today and you still rarely hear a set lacking Sub Cult productions. Steel Groves comes in many states & forms such as Single Cell, Subforce (w Jeff F), Rex B, Groove Mekanics (w John Reyes), but the man behind the curtain has shaken the foundations of the underground with his notorious label Capital Techno. Releasing a grand and pounding roster of producers, ranging from newcomers to old cats alike, the only mandatory condition is that their beats were filled with techno tremors with a capital T.

Another thing that connects these two apart from apparent chemical bond of Solid State, is their continuous mutual releasing of records on their respective labels, which started at the beginning of the decade. Both men on a mission also share their religious afflictions to the music & scene, without caring much for the trends or hype that can distort & distract others from the only crucial part of the underground, which is music. This laboratory project will bring about massive collision of mutual visions of techno, which seems to be lost in nowadays repetitions across the research spectrum of electronica. Combined forces in optimal conditions and dark lab coats are delivering a release after release of fresh, pounding and exciting audio output that will surely stand out among the crowd of clinical beats. Solid State welcomes you to a new state of the underground where ideas, zeal, drive and music atoms flow fast, deep and with a purpose

Distek’s adoration for music started in the early 90’s playing a mix of Hard Dance and Trance embarking on his path as a producer using an Amiga500. Recently he’s been proved to be one of the most respected artists to emerge in the UK’s underground Techno scene with his Tough, Funky, Underground style.

A few years later he became resident for a number of local clubs and free parties across England and Wales. By 2001 his self built studio was finished and he started to focus on putting his unique sound into every production, by working hard he earned himself and his label ‘Kick The Drum’ respect amongst his peers and a place in the underground Techno scene.
Releases mounted up on Kick The Drum, More Punk Than Funk and Maximum Minimum. Continuing with his diversity and drive he extended his talent towards the Hardgroove and Techno sound, gaining releases on SUB CULT.

Distek’s own style works well in these genres and has grabbed the attention and support from many different artists. His tacks have received rave reviews in the press from the likes of IDJ and Upront magazines while producers like Dave The Drummer, Mark EG and Ignition Technician have also voiced their commendation and support.

With all the hype around him it’s no surprise he’s had the advantage of DJing and playing Live Sets across the UK and Europe alongside some of his heroes including Dave The Drummer, Ben Sims, DJ Rush and Concrete Djz!

Hot Slovenian virtuoso started his music journey in 2004, when he bought his first turntable. In 2005, when he added one more, he already knew what is going to be his biggest passion in life. In 2007 he yet won the Slovenian competition Technotalents in which he has shown his amazing spinning skills and technique.

Baly’s production has exploded after a few years of committed and hard work; in the beginning of 2010, when he get out with his tracks on different mighty labels around the globe. He is constantly pushing track by track on different techno charts – two times he has managed to climb right to the 1st place of bestsellers of TOP 100 Techno tracks on Trackitdown. His new wave music is getting him more and more attention and support from many DJs of world format.

In the beginning of 2012 he has established his own label – Alphawave Records. The first release with legendary Swedish artist HERTZ and remixes from FER BR, Balthazar&JackRock and himself was really impressive and has shown the vision and philosophy of the label – to spread quality music of most world’s admitted artists. As a label co-owner, he is going to struggle to distribute best techno music on the dance floors all over the world.

In summer 2012 he achieved the BIGGEST success so far: with over 850 entries he was the runner up of the Carl Cox’s Revolution Recruits DJ competition – this means he has got the support of one of the biggest names in techno industry!!

2015 and 2016 he had a big step closer to his dreams. He played in Space – carl Cox Revolution B-Day Party (Ibiza), he played in Privilege (Ibiza), he was a guest on Ibiza Global radio & Ibiza Sonica Radio.

He has entertained party people with some of the world’s biggest DJ names like Cristian Varela, Mauro Picotto, Marco Bailey, Ben Sims, DJ Murphy, DJ Misjah, Axel Karakasis, Dejan Milicevic, Fatima Hajji, Wehbba, Boriqua Tribez and many more. Through new techno with massive bass lines and exceptional technique, he spreads his recognizable charismatic style of spinning that makes people fascinated every time. With his enthusiasm and quality in all music areas, he is on the best way to become one of the trendsetters in electronic music.

Music is his lifestyle – he lives, eats and dreams it!!
