The brutally banging Bryant Baker’s back! With three original tracks and a remix by Aka Carl himself, the Special Series EP11 is a must-have in any hardgroove collection. Kicking off this EP is “Viral Weaponry”, an uplifting, tech-trance track, with an upfront rolling synthbass, small breakbeat down-parts and a massive breakdown with synths, sweeps, and a vocal building and rising yet kicking ineffectively clean.
Carl builds his rework effortlessly around the catchy synth-line and although the track is slower than we’re used to, it makes up for that in terms of power. Big-room techno with a dark warehouse-rave atmosphere to it. Then we have “Captivate”, powered by a rolling bassline and solid percussion, the filter-buildup in the main breakdown leading up to the drop will definitely captivate the dance-floor. Last but not least is “Furious”, slightly darker with a deep sub and catchy stabs. Great EP from the Sub Cult office, if I do say so myself!
